Proposals in response to specific project requests for proposals (RFPs) are sought from all capable investigators - academic institutions of higher learning, independent laboratories, non-profit associations, privately-owned companies (e.g., sole proprietorships, corporate entities, component/equipment manufacturers, etc.), research institutions, and eligible national laboratories
As appropriate, ARTI encourages "teaming" of two or more organizations if such teaming will better address the needed investigation. If teaming is undertaken, the roles and contributions of the "lead" and support partners are to be clearly delineated in the proposal.
For each project, ARTI intends to select the best entity to accomplish the required work. On proposals of equal quality, preference will be given to North American researchers since monetary support for the ARTI research effort is derived from U.S. and Canadian sources and since it is easier/less expensive for ARTI to interact with those researchers (e.g., site visits, review meetings, etc.)
